IPA Teachers Attend Advanced NVT Course in Belgium
During the week of August 18, 2025, our language faculty members Merlynne Williams, Karin Werleman, and Esther Stroucken participated in the advanced course on teaching Dutch as a Foreign Language (NVT). This course is offered annually by the Taalunie in Leuven, Belgium. Participation in this educational course was made possible in part by the IPA through Erasmus+ funds from the KA131 mobility projects.
The language faculty members look back on a successful course week and are grateful that Erasmus+ and the Taalunie gave them the opportunity to further develop as professionals in the field of NVT. In addition to gaining new insights, the exchange with NVT teachers from all over the world also showed them that multilingual teaching methods in Aruba are of interest to international NVT teachers and scientists.
This course is highly recommended to any teacher involved in teaching Dutch language within the multilingual Aruban environment. The language faculty members look forward to further Erasmus+ projects that may arise from the knowledge and experiences gained during the Taalunie course week in Leuven.
